Clay and Miles ? ? ? from My Straight Fishing Buddy on Reddit

For the past two weeks I have been reading a novella on Reddit as it was published chapter by chapter.  At first, it was just an enjoyable story with characters I can relate to and understand.  As the story progressed however, it started getting more real to me, things started hitting my heart and I found myself waiting for the next chapter so I could find out what happens to these two characters.

The story is about Clay, a Southern boy, working to make a living as a UPS driver.  Clay meets Miles on his delivery route while dropping off packages for the store Miles manages.  They have a casual relationship and Clay asks Miles if he would like to go fishing one Saturday.  From that point forward the story is a whirlwind of unspoken desire and emotions.  They become more than just causal friends on that fishing trip and the journey of discovery begins.  I regularly find myself in tears for both Clay and Miles, as they struggle to figure out what this can become and if they can handle it when it does.  I also find myself second guessing decisions I made 15 years ago, when I had to make the decision to leave my wife and family and my life, to be with the man I loved.  I stayed with my wife and family and I have made a life that I can enjoy even though there are times I can't be my true self.

The author of this story is a budding author whose pen name is Incubus_Inkling.  All of his writing is available on Reddit and I have pasted a link to my favorite chapter of the novella so far.  Take my advice, start from the beginning, you will be hooked like me and begging for more.

I have been imagining Clay and Miles in my head and have pasted a couple of guys that give me inspiration.

Maybe Clay and Miles
